Rachel Robinson
Mrs. Robinson's Story
Being a teacher was always the goal. Most of my family are either educators or administrators in local school systems. They taught me everything I know, everything I love: a fierce need to be close to family, a love of children, an avid reading passion. It made sense for me to teach.
I was married at the age of 21 and dropped out of school to work full time. See, my husband needed to go to school full time which meant he had to drop something (work). I gladly took up his slack, and started a new career path: pharmacy. I spent four wonderful years becoming very involved in everything pharmacy, not having a degree didn't matter! It was perfect!
Until I realized I wasn't living to my full potential.
My husband urged me to finish school, and I did. With the encouragement of my family I entered grad school and found a fabulous teaching job (high school English, yay!).
I am finally living up to my potential, and want to pass that on to my students. I have an intense need to show students that they can be more than average, and I hope that is evident in everything I do.
But enough storytelling, here are some basics:
-BA in English, Texas A&M - Commerce 2015
-Certification Exams: ELAR 7-12, ELAR/Soc. Stud 4-8, and ESL K-12
